Michael Kamprath is Assistant General Counsel for the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority | Tampa International Airport where he focuses on all aspects of the $1.5 billion expansion of Tampa International Airport. He is Board Certified in Construction Law by the Florida Bar and is licensed to practice in state and federal courts in Alabama and Florida. He was named as one of three finalists for the 2014 American Bar Association’s National Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year Award and won the 2015 ABA’s Jefferson Fordham Up & Comer Award and the 2017 and 2019 Tampa Bay Business Journal’s Top Non-Profit Government Corporate Counsel Awards. Michael attended Case Western Reserve University where he received degrees in Civil Engineering and Economics and law school at the University of Florida where he was graduated magna cum laude. Michael is President of Engineers Without Borders-USA’s Florida Professional Chapter and serves on EWB-USA’s Governance Committee. Michael is active in the American Bar Association and the Florida Bar and has chaired numerous committees. The American Society of Civil Engineers selected Michael to serve as one of its members on the Engineers Joint Contract Drafting Committee. Michael helps edit the Journal of Legal Affairs and Dispute Resolution in Engineering and Construction. He is an Accredited Airport Executive by the American Association of Airport Executives and a Leadership Florida alumnus.
