A path to peace of mind and stability: Building for Good is helping a minority-run Massachusetts nonprofit secure its physical presence to support and strengthen children and families across Massachusetts
For almost 50 years, the Children’s Services of Roxbury (“CSR”)—one of the largest minority-operated human services providers in Massachusetts—has worked to bring peace of mind to vulnerable children and families across the state.
Behind all of CSR’s work is a belief that “when a family is at peace, children are healthier and communities are stronger.” This belief drives CSR’s compassionate approach to helping vulnerable children and families, who are experiencing personal challenges, address “the most basic needs for food, shelter, safety, and family support.”
CSR is located in Roxbury, Massachusetts, in an area experiencing rapidly escalating property values. In an effort to secure its position in the area, B4G volunteer lawyers, John Connelly and Leah Rubega from Hinckley Allen, will help CSR purchase and remodel the building that currently houses its programs and services in Roxbury, while saving critical funds on legal services.
With its own peace of mind of a secure physical presence in Roxbury, CSR will be able to focus on delivering its mission of bringing peace and security to more than 6000 children and families annually through 22 support programs.
